I’m going to try blogging with WordPress for iPhone. Mixed English and Finnish stories — really nothing new, but a new WordPress installation. I’ve already abandoned my old blog and wasn’t interested in updating it.
I’m testing here, if I can post an entry to my blog with Textmate Blogging Bundle as it is easier to write with (Textile) syntax hilighting. I can also fetch and update these posts with Textmate. What is cool, I should also be able to upload images with it — though I’ve been using Flickr [...]
I wondered why comments didn’t allow html, but it was because of the Textile plugin, though I’m still wondering is there a way to change the allowed tags with the admin interface.
I tried to find a way to use /year/month/date/slug/ structure in my permalinks and also allow posts to be accessed by the slug only. Choosing either one was easy but having them both working at the same time seemed to be a problem for my WordPress installation.
I didn’t actually have to manually add old slugs into Wordpress database, I wrote a little script that also converted slugs that were improperly formatted at import time.
I’ve used WordPress before, but decided to try Textpattern instead for this blog a year ago. After WordPress released their new version, I thought to give it a try again. I didn’t want to design new layout and had seen this theme before somewhere.
